You too can help to improve the special care we deliver to the most vulnerable people in the Irish community of south London.
You can volunteer your time and expertise in many ways ...
We need volunteers to befriend our pensioners living at home and those living in care homes. Over 60% of our pensioners live alone and most do not have family living close by so they really value company, be it over the phone or face to face.
We are always looking for people to help out with general administration, particularly our newsletters and leaflets as well as delivering them.
And fundraising is an ever present dilemma - if you would like to get involved in all things fundraising - please get in touch!
You can volunteer to help out in the day service, helping with the tea or with the various activities or just having a chat! Or you could help out with our outings or monthly tea parties or maybe help with our bigger functions at Christmas and St Patrick's Day events.
Our Volunteer Programme offers many opportunities including visiting people at home or living in care homes, taking them out to meet friends, go shopping or just to join in whatever local activities are offered in their locality. One to one support, however small, makes an enormous difference to their lives.
You can also donate to the charity and if you are a UK tax payer, we can claim 25% on every donation if you tick the gift aid box.
And if you shop online, you can help us by registering with Amazon Smile. Just go to the smile.amazon.co.uk website, select Southwark Irish Pensioners Project as your chosen charity, follow the onscreen instructions to add to your web browser and when you shop online, SIPP will receive 0.5% of the net purchase from Amazon and you will not pay anything extra for your purchase.
Every little helps.
